Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Fold in the M&M candies and chocolate chips if using.
Baking
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool on the cookie sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing. Don’t overmix the dough; mix until just combined to keep cookies chewy.
