Method
Cooking the Beef Mixture
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and crumbly.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
- Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- Pour in Worcestershire sauce and beef broth, simmering until the liquid reduces by half.
Preparing the Sandwich
- While the beef mixture is cooking, butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Preheat another skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place two slices of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
- Layer on cheddar cheese, then the beef mixture, followed by mozzarella cheese.
- Top with the remaining bread slices, butter side up.
- Grill each side for 3–4 minutes until golden and the cheese melts beautifully.
Serving
- Slice and serve warm, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding some sautéed bell peppers or mushrooms. Use any leftover cheeses you have for a unique twist. Want even crispier bread? Lightly toast your bread slices before assembling. You can easily swap the ground beef for ground turkey or chicken for a healthier option.
