Ingredients
  

For the Beef Mixture
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
For the Assembly
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices sourdough or white bread
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped (optional) For garnish

Method
 

Cooking the Beef Mixture
  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and crumbly.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour in Worcestershire sauce and beef broth, simmering until the liquid reduces by half.
Preparing the Sandwich
  1. While the beef mixture is cooking, butter one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Preheat another skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  3. Place two slices of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
  4. Layer on cheddar cheese, then the beef mixture, followed by mozzarella cheese.
  5. Top with the remaining bread slices, butter side up.
  6. Grill each side for 3–4 minutes until golden and the cheese melts beautifully.
Serving
  1. Slice and serve warm, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding some sautéed bell peppers or mushrooms. Use any leftover cheeses you have for a unique twist. Want even crispier bread? Lightly toast your bread slices before assembling. You can easily swap the ground beef for ground turkey or chicken for a healthier option.
