  • 1 lb ground beef Can swap for ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup Homemade vegan version can be used for a vegan option.
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded Feel free to mix up the cheese with Italian blend or pepper jack.
  • 1 bag (32 oz) tater tots Crispy and golden topping.
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped Cook until softened.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess fat afterward.
  3. Toss in the chopped onion and cook until it softens up.
  4. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  6. Top it off with the cheddar cheese.
  7. Finally, arrange the tater tots on top of the cheese.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until the tater tots are crispy and golden.
  2. Serve hot and enjoy your comforting dinner!

Notes

For extra crunch, let it bake a little longer. This casserole can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
