  • 1 pound ground beef You can substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup Can be substituted with chicken or cheddar soup.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to add extra cheese for a gooey treat.
  • 1 bag tater tots Keep an eye on the tater tots; nobody wants them too crunchy.
  • 1/2 cup onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onions over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef and onions with the cream of mushroom soup, salt, and pepper.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Top with the shredded cheese and arrange the tater tots on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious tater tot casserole.

Notes

Got leftovers? This casserole keeps well in the fridge for up to 3–4 days. For freezing, cool completely before sealing. Reheat in the oven until warm and crispy. Variations include making it vegan with plant-based crumbles and dairy-free soup and cheese. Add spices or jalapeños for extra kick.
