Ingredients

Cookie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure the butter is at room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar For the dough.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For flavor.
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute for gluten-free flour.
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans) Can substitute with other nuts.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Balances the sweetness.
For Rolling
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For rolling the cookies.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract for that extra flavor kick.
  4. Gradually add the flour, chopped nuts, and salt, mixing until everything is well combined.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden.
  7. Allow cookies to cool slightly, then roll in powdered sugar while still warm.
  8. Let them cool completely and roll in powdered sugar again before serving.

Notes

Chill the dough for about 30 minutes before rolling for better texture. Toasting the nuts enhances flavor. For variations, add cocoa powder for chocolate version, or substitute butter for coconut oil for a vegan option.
