Ingredients
  

Crust and Topping
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted 2 sticks
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Filling
  • 3 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples (about 3 medium)
  • 0.5 cup salted caramel sauce

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Add the flour and stir until crumbly. Press about two-thirds of the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  4. In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with cinnamon and nutmeg. Spread this mixture over the crust.
  5. Drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the apples.
  6. Crumble the remaining flour mixture over the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  2. Let it cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.

Notes

Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the fridge for up to a week. Let them come to room temperature before serving.
