Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For the Gravy
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
For the Garlic Herb Mashed Potatoes
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix together ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form them into meatballs.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the meatballs on all sides until they are golden.
Cooking
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Pour this mixture into the skillet and let simmer until thickened.
  2. For the garlic herb mashed potatoes, boil the potatoes until tender. Mash with garlic, butter, milk, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  3. Serve the meatballs with gravy poured over the garlic herb mashed potatoes.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef. For creamier mashed potatoes, add extra milk or sour cream.
