Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
For Rolling
  • to taste Powdered sugar for rolling the dough balls

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and roll them in powdered sugar.
  8. Place them on a lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until crinkled.
  9. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about 5 days. Freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave if needed.
