Main Ingredients
  • 4 slices Bread Choice of white, whole grain, or sourdough.
  • 2 slices Cheese Cheddar or American.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter For grilling.
For Serving
  • 1 cup Tomato soup Essential for dipping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut the bread into heart shapes.
  2. Butter one side of each bread piece generously.
  3. Place cheese between two bread pieces, buttered sides facing out.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwiches until golden brown and cheese is melted, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Serving
  1. Serve with tomato soup on the side for dipping.

Notes

These sandwiches are best enjoyed fresh. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze before grilling for up to a month. To reheat, use a skillet on low heat.
