Sandwich Ingredients
  • 4 slices Italian bread or hoagie rolls Choose your preferred bread variety.
  • 1 cup Lettuce Shredded or whole leaves.
  • 1 cup Tomatoes Sliced.
  • 1/2 cup Onions Thinly sliced.
  • 1/2 cup Pepperoncini Sliced or whole, based on preference.
  • 1/2 cup Olives Sliced black or green olives.
  • 4 oz Salami Thinly sliced.
  • 4 oz Ham Thinly sliced.
  • 4 oz Provolone cheese Sliced.
Dressing
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil Extra virgin is best.
  • 2 tbsp Red wine vinegar For a tangy flavor.
  • to taste Salt Adjust based on preference.
  • to taste Pepper Freshly ground for better flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the Italian bread or hoagie rolls in half lengthwise.
  2. Layer the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pepperoncini, olives, salami, ham, and provolone cheese inside the bread.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and red wine vinegar, then sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Close the sandwich and press down gently.
  5. Slice and serve cold or at room temperature.

Notes

Let the sandwich sit for a few minutes before slicing for the best flavor infusion. Ideal to serve with crispy chips or tangy pickles.
