  • 8 oz pasta Any type of pasta you prefer
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups milk Can be substituted with plant-based milk for a vegan version
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated Can substitute with any hard cheese or nutritional yeast for vegan option
  • 2 tablespoons butter Can be replaced with olive oil for a vegan version
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Preparation and Cooking
  1. In a large pot or skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Toss in the pasta and pour in the milk.
  4. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  5. Cook the pasta according to package instructions, stirring frequently, until al dente and the sauce is thickened (about 10-12 minutes).
  6. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Remove from heat and let it sit for a couple of minutes to thicken further.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For best results, stir frequently to avoid clumping. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or frozen for up to a month. Reheat with a splash of milk to restore creaminess.
