  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce Use tamari for gluten-free.

  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, optional Adds depth to the flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch For thickening the sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil For cooking.
  • 2 tablespoons Green onions, for garnish Adds freshness and crunch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger (if using).
  2. Season your chicken with a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, then cook the chicken until it turns golden brown.
  2. Pour the honey mixture over the chicken and let it simmer until the sauce thickens.
  3. If the sauce needs a little boost, mix some cornstarch with a little water to make a slurry and add it to the sauce for thickness.
Serving
  1. Serve over rice or with steamed vegetables, and garnish with green onions.

Notes

Use thighs for juicier results, and consider adding a splash of sesame oil for depth. Always taste and adjust sauce sweetness or saltiness to your liking. For a vegan option, substitute chicken with tofu.
