Ingredients
  

For the Patties
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 ea egg
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Gravy
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup onion, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon flour

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, egg, salt, and pepper. Form into patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.
Cooking
  1. In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and onions. Sauté until tender.
  2. Stir in the flour, and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Gradually add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until thickened.
  4. Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes or noodles for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
