Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 250 g Magerquark (fat-free quark)
  • 100 g Haferflocken (oats)
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 g honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • pinch salt
  • Cinnamon (to taste)
  • Oil or butter (for frying)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the Magerquark, eggs, honey, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the oats, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the quark mixture and stir until you have a homogeneous batter.
Cooking
  1. Heat a pan over medium heat and add a little oil or butter.
  2. Spoon small portions of the batter into the pan, frying them for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown.
  3. Place the cooked quark coins on a paper towel to drain any excess oil and keep them warm while you finish frying the rest.

Notes

These quark coins can be served with a drizzle of honey or maple syrup, fresh fruits like berries, or a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Store leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
