Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef Can swap for turkey or a meat alternative.
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced Peel or leave skins on.
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: vegetables like green beans or corn Add for extra flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the beef is browned. Drain the fat.
  3. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes.
  4. Spread the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
  5. Layer the remaining potatoes on top.
  6. Pour the cream of mushroom soup evenly over the top layer of potatoes.
  7. Sprinkle cheese on top.
Cooking
  1. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  3. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For added crunch, leave the foil off for the last few minutes of cooking. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days in an airtight container.
