Ingredients
  

For the dough
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2¼ tsp)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the filling
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup mini chocolate chips (optional) For an indulgent twist
For the frosting
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-4 tbsp milk to adjust consistency

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, baking powder, and salt. Mix in warmed milk, melted butter, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla. Knead until smooth.
Prepare the Filling
  1. In a separate bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. If you want an indulgent twist, toss in some mini chocolate chips.
Roll and Assemble
  1. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, then roll it up tightly. Slice into rolls.
Bake the Rolls
  1. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise. Bake at 350°F (175°C) until bubbly and golden.
Make the Frosting
  1. Beat softened cream cheese and butter together, then add powdered sugar, vanilla, and enough milk for a smooth consistency.
Frost and Serve
  1. Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls and watch everyone swoon!

Notes

For extra fluffiness, don’t rush the dough rising time. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3-4 days or frozen for up to a month. Try adding a hint of orange zest for a citrus twist!
