  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (optional) Optional for added flavor and color.
  • 4 pieces hoagie rolls
  • 8 oz provolone cheese (or cheese of choice) Feel free to use cheddar or Swiss cheese for variation.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for sautéing Any cooking oil will work.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add a little oil and sauté the sliced onions (and bell pepper, if using) until softened.
  2. Add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until fully browned.
  3. Preheat your oven or a toaster oven.
  4. Once the beef is cooked, divide it among the hoagie rolls and top with cheese.
  5. Place the filled rolls in the oven until the cheese melts and the rolls toast.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge, or freeze tightly wrapped for 2-3 months. Reheat in the oven for best results.
