Method
Preparation
- Drain the tofu: Remove excess moisture by pressing it for 15-20 minutes.
- Cube the tofu: Cut the pressed tofu into uniform bite-sized cubes.
- Mix the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil for the honey garlic sauce.
- Coat the tofu: Roll each tofu cube in cornstarch until evenly coated.
Cooking
- Heat it up: Sauté in vegetable oil over medium-high heat until crispy and golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Drain the oil: Transfer the fried tofu onto a paper towel-lined plate to soak up excess oil.
- Simmer the sauce: Put the skillet back on medium heat, pour in the honey garlic sauce, and let it simmer for about a minute.
- Combine it: Gently toss the crispy tofu in the sauce to coat evenly.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3-4 days. For best results, reheat in the oven at 350°F.
