  • 2 cups cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice) Use a blend of cheeses for more depth.
  • 1 cup sausage or ham Cooked and chopped, can use bacon for variation.
  • 4 slices bread or 2 cups hash browns Day-old bread works best.
Optional Add-Ins
  • 1 cup vegetables (bell peppers, spinach, etc.) Stale bread works well to absorb flavors.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. Layer the bread or hash browns in a greased baking dish.
  4. Add the cooked sausage or ham, followed by a generous layer of cheese.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the layers, ensuring everything is well covered.
  6. Add any additional veggies or cheeses as desired.
  7. Cover and refrigerate overnight if making ahead.
Cooking
  1. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the casserole is set and golden on top.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the oven for best results.
