Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt (or sea salt)
Wet Ingredients
  • 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chocolate Chips
  • 3 cups chocolate chips (semisweet and dark)
  • to taste Extra chocolate chips and flaky sea salt (for topping) Optional for topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Chill the dough in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Use a cookie scoop to form dough balls and place them on the baking sheet, leaving space in between.
  3. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
  4. Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds for warm, gooey cookies.
