Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
Cooking
- Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
- In a saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat.
- Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce and let simmer for a few minutes.
Assembly
- Cut the hoagie rolls open and lay them on a baking sheet.
- Place meatballs in each roll and top with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm.
Notes
For meal prep, you can freeze the meatballs and sauce separately for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven for best results. Don’t skip toasting the rolls before serving for added crunch!
