Preparation
- In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil, diced onions, and minced garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until onions are translucent and fragrant.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly before folding in shredded cheddar cheese.
Wrapping and Frying
- Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface, wet the edges with water, and place a spoonful of the beef and cheese mixture in the center.
- Fold and roll tightly, sealing the edge with water.
- Heat oil in a clean skillet over medium-high heat. Fry egg rolls for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain on a napkin-lined plate and serve warm.
Notes
For variations, try using ground turkey, chicken, or black beans for a vegetarian option. Serve with a dipping sauce or sweet potato fries.
