  • 2-3 tablespoons maple syrup for glaze

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the brown sugar and softened butter until smooth.
  3. Mix in the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack.
  9. For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar with 2-3 tablespoons of maple syrup until smooth, and drizzle it over the cooled cookies.
  10. Allow the glaze to set before serving.

Notes

Use perfectly softened butter for best results. Sift powdered sugar for a smooth glaze. Consider adding chopped nuts or chocolate chips for added texture. Store cookies in an airtight container for 3-5 days at room temperature or in the fridge for a week.
