Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 1 pound flank steak Pound to an even thickness.
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 cups marinara sauce For smothering the rolled steak.
  • as needed tablespoons Olive oil For searing.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lay the flank steak flat on a cutting board and pound it to an even thickness.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the flank steak.
  5. Roll the steak tightly and secure it with kitchen twine or toothpicks.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the rolled steak on all sides until browned.
  2. Pour the marinara sauce into a baking dish and place the seared steak rolls on top.
  3. Cover with foil and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  4. Remove from the oven, let rest, and slice into rounds to serve.

Notes

Serve on a bed of pasta or alongside garlic bread for extra crunch. This dish is best served with a sprinkle of extra cheese on top.
