Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 pieces green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • as needed cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger. Stir to mix.
  2. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Cooking
  1. Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Pour the bourbon mixture over the chicken and bring to a simmer.
  3. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the chicken.
  4. Serve over cooked rice or noodles, garnished with sliced green onions.

Notes

Marinate the chicken in the sauce for at least 30 minutes before cooking for richer flavors. Substitute shrimp or tofu for different protein options. Adjust sweetness by reducing brown sugar or adding more soy sauce.
