  • 2 cups rolled oats You can swap in gluten-free oats if desired.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Experiment with spices like nutmeg or ginger for added depth.
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup Use maple syrup for a vegan option.
  • 1/2 cup nuts or chocolate chips Optional for added texture.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Optional for additional flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. Add the oats, cinnamon, salt, honey or maple syrup, nuts, or chocolate chips, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Mix until combined.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

Store these bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 5 days, or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for about 20 seconds for a fresh taste.
