Ingredients
  

For the Patties
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
For the Bake
  • 2 cups beef broth Chicken broth can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup green beans (optional) Adds extra color and nutrition.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, garlic, bread crumbs, milk, egg, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into patties and place them in a baking dish.
  4. In a separate pan, sauté the mushrooms until soft, then pour in the beef broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Pour the broth and mushrooms over the patties in the baking dish.
  6. If using, add green beans around the patties.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Serve hot.

Notes

For a different twist, consider adding cheese during the last 10 minutes of baking, or mix in vegetables like red bell peppers or spinach for added nutrition. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
