  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth can substitute with chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes can use pre-made for convenience
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional) adds a cheesy finish if desired

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, adding onions and mushrooms until soft.
  3. Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes.
  5. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until heated through and golden on top.
  2. Serve warm.

Notes

This dish can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven until warmed through. For variations, you can use ground turkey or add veggies like carrots or peas.
