Method
Preparation
- In a medium-size bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add in the Greek yogurt and mix the dough until it’s wet but still slightly crumbly.
- Turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface and knead it into a smooth ball.
- Split the dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each piece into a 5-6 inch long, 3/4 inch wide log, forming it into a circle by pinching the ends.
Cooking
- In a small bowl, combine the egg yolk with water and brush the mixture over each bagel, adding your desired toppings.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F and spray the basket with olive oil.
- Arrange the bagels in the air fryer in a single layer, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Cook for about 10 minutes, checking at 8-9 minutes for doneness.
Serving
- Remove the bagels from the air fryer and let them cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and topping.
Notes
These bagels are perfect fresh out of the air fryer, inviting the addition of cream cheese or avocado. They can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to restore warmth.
